Babelotheca is a bilingual reading tool that presents classic literature in two languages, sentence by sentence, with idioms and difficult words annotated inline.
All English originals come from Project Gutenberg, a volunteer effort to digitise books in the public domain. Every work in the Babelotheca library is free of copyright restrictions.
Translations come from two sources, depending on availability:
Each book’s translation file records its source. Idiom and difficult-word annotations are generated by Claude.
Book cover thumbnails are cached locally, sourced once from the Open Library Covers API.
