Arrojado Candido del paraiso terrenal fué andando mucho tiempo sin saber adonde se encaminaba, lloroso, alzando los ojos al cielo, y volviéndolos una y mil veces á la quinta que la mas linda de las baronesitas encerraba; al fin se acostó sin cenar, en mitad del campo entre dos surcos. Candide, thus driven out of this terrestrial paradise, wandered a long time, without knowing where he went; sometimes he raised his eyes, all bedewed with tears, towards heaven, and sometimes he cast a melancholy look towards the magnificent castle where dwelt the fairest of young baronesses.
