Merci, monsieur, dit-il enfin, rendant les deux; c'est un autographe très intéressant. “Thank you, sir,” he said at last, returning both; “it’s a very interesting autograph.”
Il y eut une pause, pendant laquelle M. Utterson luttait contre lui-même. There was a pause, during which Mr. Utterson struggled with himself. Pourquoi les avez-vous comparés, Guest? demanda-t-il soudainement. “Why did you compare them, Guest?” he inquired suddenly.
