L'osteria del «Gambero Rosso». The inn of The Red Craw-fish.
Cammina, cammina, cammina, alla fine sul far della sera arrivarono stanchi morti all'osteria del Gambero Rosso. They walked, and walked, and walked, until at last, towards evening, they arrived dead tired at the inn of The Red Craw-fish.
— Fermiamoci un po' qui, — disse la Volpe, — tanto per mangiare un boccone e per riposarci qualche ora. 'Let us stop here a little,' said the Fox, 'that we may have something to eat and rest ourselves for an hour or two. A mezzanotte poi ripartiremo per essere domani, all'alba, nel Campo dei miracoli. — We will start again at midnight, so as to arrive at the Field of miracles by dawn to-morrow morning.'
Entrati nell'osteria si sedettero tutti e tre a tavola; ma nessuno di loro aveva appetito. Having gone into the inn they all three sat down to table: but none of them had any appetite.
