Le désespoir de ce dernier est un sujet trop pénible pour que j’y insiste ; ses effets ultérieurs montrèrent combien ce coup l’avait atteint profondément. The latter's distraction at his bereavement is a subject too painful to be dwelt on; its after effects showed how deep the sorrow sunk.
